·         Updated Ordinance No. 9560 on Regular Agenda Item No. 1 b) - Consider adopting on first reading, Ordinance No. 9560, establishing a licensing and inspection program for short-term rentals; and

 

09/14/18 @ 3:15 p.m.:

·         Updated the staff memo and resolution on Consent Agenda Item No. 9 c) – Adopt Resolution No. 7266, authorizing the offering for sale of water and sewage system improvement revenue bonds, Series 2018, of the City of Lawrence, Kansas;

·         Updated Ordinance No. 9560 on Regular Agenda Item No. 1 b) - Consider adopting on first reading, Ordinance No. 9560, establishing a licensing and inspection program for short-term rentals; and

BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS CURRENT VACANCIES:

Affordable Housing Advisory Board

Three positions are due to expire 12/31/18 and are eligible for reappointment to additional terms. These positions are designated for representatives from Justice Matters, Lawrence Home Builders, and an at-large representative.

 

Aviation Advisory Board

One vacancy for a position that expired 05/31/18.  This position is designated for a representative from the University of Kansas.

 

Bodywork Advisory Board

Five vacancies, with four positions designated for body practitioners and one position for a citizen at-large.

 

Community Development Advisory Committee

Two positions, designated for low/mod representatives, are due to expire 09/30/18 and will be eligible for reappointment to additional terms. Two additional vacancies for at-large positions expire 09/30/18 and 09/30/20.

 

Contractor Licensing Board

One vacancy for a position that expired 12/31/17. This position is designated for a Residential Contractor. One additional position, designated for an Architect/Engineer, is due to expire 12/31/18 and will not be eligible for reappointment. This board will be going through restructuring in the next year.

 

Downtown Master Plan Steering Committee

There are six (6) positions available on this steering committee. Eligibility requirements: one (1) at-large citizen, one (1) architect, one (1) developer, one (1) downtown business owner/tenant, one (1) downtown residential owner/tenant, and one (1) downtown property owner at-large.

 

eXplore Lawrence Governing Board

Three positions are due to expire 12/31/18, designated for Full Service Hotel Rep., City Commission Rep., and Service/Event Mgmt Industry Rep., and will be eligible for reappointment to additional terms. One vacancy for a position that is designated for the sports/recreational industry and expires 12/31/20.

 

Homeless Issues Advisory Committee

One vacancy for a position that expires 12/31/19. This position is designated for a law enforcement representative. Four additional positions are due to expire 12/31/18. Three of these positions will be eligible for reappointment to additional terms and one position will not be eligible for reappointment.

 

Hospital Board

Three positions are due to expire 09/30/18. One position is eligible for reappointment to an additional term and two positions will not be eligible for reappointment.

 

Human Relations Commission

One vacancy for a position that expires 09/30/18.  Two additional positions are due to expire 09/30/18 and  will be eligible for reappointment to additional terms.

 

Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging

One position is due to expire 09/30/18 and will not be eligible for reappointment.

 

Lawrence Douglas County Advocacy Council on Aging

Five positions expired 12/31/17. Four positions are eligible for reappointment to additional terms and one position is vacant.

 

Mental Health Board

One position expired 04/30/17.

 

Plumbing Code Board of Appeals

One vacancy for a position that expires 04/30/18 and is designated for a Master Plumber. This board will be going through restructuring in the next year.

 

Public Transit Advisory Committee

Three positions are due to expire 12/31/18. Two positions are not eligible for reappointment to additional terms and one position is eligible for reappointment to an additional term.

 

Social Service Funding Advisory Board

Two vacancies for positions that expired 08/31/18 and one vacancy for a position that expires 08/31/19. One additional position expired 08/31/18 and is eligible for reappointment to an additional term.

 

Sustainability Advisory Board

Five positions are due to expire 12/31/18, with three positions eligible for reappointment to additional terms and two positions not eligible for reappointment.

 

Transient Guest Tax Grant Program Advisory Board

One vacancy for a position that expires 05/31/19. This position is designated for someone in the Arts/Cultural Industry.

 

Transportation Commission

Three positions are due to expire 12/31/18 and all will be eligible for reappointment to additional terms.
