Authorize City Manager to sign City/County Cooperation Agreement renewing Dr. Caleb Trent, M.D. as Medical Director for the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical Department

 

Executive Summary:

K.S.A. 65-6126 requires each medical service to have a medical director appointed by the operator of the service to review, approve, and implement protocols, approve and monitor the activities and education of attendants.  Dr. Trent’s role has evolved since starting with Douglas County.  Added duties now include regular scheduled meetings with Division Chief of EMS, quarterly reporting protocol review and increased QA/QI program involvement.
