City services regarding move in/out season

Staff from Utility Billing, Solid Waste and Code Enforcement are working together to promote and educate residents preparing to move this month.  The end of July/first of August is the peak season for utility billing and solid waste.  Upwards of 500+ service requests are processed to start, stop and transfer services for utilities.  We work to encourage residents to go online early to complete an online service request forms since preferred dates for service requests fill up quickly.  For Solid Waste, the main focus is on education/outreach to encourage reuse, donation, recycling, disposal of household hazardous waste, bulky item pick-up and other services available.  This year, we completed a tweet-a-long with Solid Waste crews on July 28 which had very good live engagement and post-production engagement on social media. The city created a centralized landing page on the website for a bulk of the information available about move out services.  Later this fall, we will complete the Move Out educational campaign with information about good neighbor ordinances and the Rental Licensing and Inspection Program.
