Oak Hill Cemetery monuments washed and straightened
Parks and Recreation staff members have undertaken a project to clean and straighten grave markers and monuments in Oak Hill Cemetery. More than 300 grave markers dating back to the Civil War era have received a cleaning, more than 200 stones were straightened, and about 75 were lowered to be flush with the ground. Please see attached report for before and after photos.
Public Works mid-year Street Division update
With continued support from the City Commission significant progress is being made towards improving Lawrence roadways. Collaboration on projects with the internal street maintenance crews has also enhanced the overall impact to City streets. Public Works will continue street ratings to project maintenance plans for future street maintenance. A mid-year report has been prepared along with photos and the 2011 Comprehensive Street Maintenance Program map.
