Annexation – PS 48 site

 

 

 

On September 5, 2006, the City Commission authorized the purchase of approximately 44 acres of vacant ground located west of Folks Road (extended) and north of N. 1175 Road and of a strip of ground (3.58 acres) located south of the Kansas Turnpike for the Pump Station 48 project. (Staff Memo  Map)  Approximately 9.9 acres of the site was annexed into the City on October 24, 2006. (Ord. 8044  Map) for the construction of the pump station building and improvements.

 

Staff is requesting that the remainder of the City property be considered for annexation at this time, consisting of approximately 40 acres.  (Map)

 

Action Requested:

Refer to the Lawrence Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Commission the annexation of approximately 40 acres of City owned property located in the northwest portion of the City for consideration.
