Executive Summary:

The City of Lawrence Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are partnering together to submit a grant application for the 2017 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG).  The purpose of the grant is to purchase equipment, software, and hold necessary training to establish a Forensic Network, which will be separate from the primary network.  The separate network will allow investigators to safely acquire, process, analyze, share, and store digital evidence from a variety of digital sources.  The amount of the grant is $32,705.00, with no match from the City required.

The JAG Program is the leading source of federal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions.
