Recommendations/Options/Action Requested:

Approve a Special Event Permit for 6-Mile Chop House Anniversary Gala at 4931 W. 6th Street on September 23, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Application submitted by 6-Mile Chop House and Tavern, for Cherry Hill Properties, LLC, property owner of record.

Executive Summary:

As part of the Special Event permit review process, Type 5 special events (public events primarily for entertainment or amusement, such as concerts or festivals) may be granted a Temporary Special Event Permit by the City Commission.  The event, which includes live music, is scheduled for September 23, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

As an additional part of the Special Event permit review process, the site proposed to hold the event is evaluated for parking capacity during the scheduled event time.  The approved Final Development Plan (Colonial Northeast 12-12-1995) on file shows parking for 258 cars are provided.  178 spaces are required per the approved Final Development Plan.  The site has an excess of 80 spaces.   The parking that would potentially be encumbered during the event time is approximately 30 spaces with some circulation around the event area that could encumber a few additional spaces.  Since the parking still meets what is required on the approved Final Development Plan, the Planning Department recommends approval if determined appropriate by the City Commission.
