Approve 5-year Airport Capital Improvement Plan Program for the Lawrence Municipal Airport. |
|
|||
Executive Summary: |
Each year the city updates and submits to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) a 5-year Airport Capital Improvement Plan. These projects are submitted so the FAA can prioritize funding, however projects are not guaranteed until grants for the funding and projects have been approved.
The city receives $150,000 entitlement funds which can be banked for a few years to provide funding for larger projects. Most of the projects at the airport exceed our entitlement funding and our projects then compete for discretionary funding. Recently the FAA reprioritized projects and the Lawrence projects did not score high enough to receive discretionary funding.
Attached is a revised 5-year ACIP that uses more of the City’s Entitlement Funds so that projects are able to proceed. |
