RE:	Annexation of approximately 125 acres

Please include the following item on the City Commission’s August 23, 2011 agenda for consideration:

Request to annex approximately 125 acres.

Background:

As a stipulation of City funding relating to the Yankee Tank Rehabilitation project, annexation of four parcels of land would be required.  These parcels include the one on which the lake sits and three adjacent parcels.  Two separate Requests for Annexation have been submitted: one by Alvamar, Inc. for three parcels, including the lake property and one by North Tank LLC/Burning Tree, LLC, for the northern parcels abutting properties along Burning Tree Court. 

Per city policy, a request to annex over ten (10) acres should be referred to the Planning Commission for a recommendation.

Action Requested:

Receive annexation request and forward to the Lawrence Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Commission for consideration.
