Resolution 6926:  A Resolution Amending Resolution 6892 and Authorizing the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds for Main Trafficway Improvements

 

The City Commission approved three major reconstruction projects earlier this spring: 

 

KLINK, 6th Street, Iowa Street to Massachusetts Street.  This project includes mill and overlay, right-turn lanes for westbound 6th Street onto northbound Maine and Michigan, striping, waterline relocation, sidewalk and some curb and gutter and base repair. 

 

6th Street from Monterey to Folks Road.  Project includes widening for a center turn lane, mill and overlay, multi-use path, and striping.

 

Bob Billings Parkway, Kasold Drive to Crestline Drive (westbound only).  This project reconstructed the street base, installed underdrains, and placed a 12” asphalt pavement.  The curb and gutter and storm sewer did not require maintenance.

 

Resolution 6891 authorized $1,300,000 for the Bob Billings Parkway project and Resolution 6892 authorized $900,000 for the 6th Street projects.  Total dollar amount for these projects, with State KLINK funds of $200,000 and Street Maintenance Funds of $120,000, is $2,520,000. 

 

The attached spreadsheet itemizes/details additional costs such as asphalt oil price adjustment, additional curb and gutter, and installation of video detection at intersections.

Resolution 6926 amends Resolution 6892 in the amount of $1,630,000 to provide sufficient authority for the 6th Street projects.

 

Action Requested:  Adopt Resolution 6926 amending Section III of Resolution 6892 and ordering the improvement and authorizing the issuance of General Obligation Bonds for main trafficway improvements.
