RE:	Closure of Vermont St adjacent to Library on 08/04/11

The Lawrence Public Library has requested permission to close Vermont Street from 7^th Street to the entrance of the parking lot adjacent to the Library (Lot 13) from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, for an End of Summer Party. The event would feature a band performing on the sidewalk on the east side of the library with the street utilized by spectators. The attached permit application includes statements of support from adjacent businesses. The city would provide meter bags and barricades to close the street.

ACTION:      Approve a Temporary Use of Public Right-of-Way Permit allowing the closure of Vermont Street from 7^th Street south to the Parking Lot 13 entrance from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011, for the Lawrence Public Library End of Summer Party.
