RE:               East Lawrence Center Roof Resurfacing

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the May 17th, 2011, meeting:

Accept the bid provided by Garland/DBS inc for resurfacing the roof on East Lawrence Center.

Project Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests Commission approval to accept the proposal provided by Garland/DBS Inc. for $81,595 to resurface of the roof at East Lawrence Center. The existing roof has deteriorated over the past 3-5 years and is beginning to show signs of water penetration. The attachment shows the deterioration of the current roof system and the proposed resurfacing option.

Pricing for the project was acquired through a Master Intergovernmental Cooperative Purchasing Agreement (MICPA) with Cobb County, GA and US Communities.

Project Funding

It is proposed that the $81,595 be funded from the Sales Tax Reserve Fund.

Action Request

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department staff requests approval from the City Commission to accept the bid provided by Garland/DBS Inc for $81,595 to resurface the roof at East Lawrence Center.
