RE:	Request to change authorization to purchase one skid steer loader for the Street Division from the HGAC to the NJPA government contract.

On February 15, 2011 the City Commission authorized the purchase of a street sweeper and a skid steer loader utilizing an existing Houston-Galveston Area Council's (HGAC) government contract. Since then it has been discovered that the skid steer loader is not available on the HGAC government contract. It is available on the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) government contract.

The Public Works Department is requesting authorization to change government contracts for the purchase of the skid steer loader approved at the 2/15/2011 commission meeting from the HGAC to the NJPA government contract.

1. Skid Steer Loader – Bobcat T750 : KC Bobcat.

$ 37,074.00

The City Commission authorization was originally for $37,516.00 and the new request would result in a lower price by $442.00

Project Funding:

Funding for this purchase will come from 505-3-3910-6005 (stormwater fund) in the amount of $37,074.00.

Action Request:

Authorize the Public Works Department to purchase one skid steer loader off of the NJPA government contract from KC Bobcat in the amount of $37,074.00.
