RE:

Request to purchase one street sweeper and one skid steer loader for the Street Division.

 

The Public Works Department is requesting authorization to purchase the following two pieces of equipment from the existing HGAC government contract.

 

1. Street sweeper - Allianz-Johnson VT650 : Allianz-Johnson      

$227,950.00

1a. sweeper trade-in

$-34,000.00

                                                          Total sweeper         

$193,950.00

 

 

2. Skid Steer Loader – Bobcat T750 : KC Bobcat    

$ 37,516.00

                                                    Grand Total

$231,466.00

 

Justification:

The purchase of these two pieces of equipment were included and approved in the 2011 adopted budget. They were also submitted to the City Manager for additional review in January 2011 as part of a comprehensive equipment purchase / replacement plan for all equipment scheduled to be purchased in 2011. They were included in the City Manager’s approval.  Please see the attached memo from the Street Division Manager describing their use and the trade-in equipment they will replace.

 

Project Funding:

Funding for this purchase will come from 505-3-3910-6005 (stormwater fund) in the amount of $231,466.00

 

Action Request:

Authorize the Public Works Department to purchase one skid steer loader off of the HGAC contract from KC Bobcat in the amount of $37,516.00 and authorize the purchase of a street sweeper from Allianz-Johnson in the amount of $227,950.00.
