New interactive map released
Information Systems GIS Coordinator, Micah Seybold, has released a new interactive map in beta that allows citizens to find an address, view zoning, infrastructure details, contours, parcel information, flood zones and pavement condition. It features tools where users can draw their own graphics, add text to the map or bookmark a location. The map can be viewed on most popular web browsers and is a free application developed by Esri that was configured to work with city GIS datasets by GIS staff. Eric Gruber, E-Gov Coordinator set up the beta mapping website with an instructional video on how to use the application and a link to provide feedback.
2010 facilities and structures update
The attached memo provides a year-end update and status of the Public Works Department’s 2010 Facilities and Structures Program. The Facilities and Structures Division maintains two parking garages: Riverfront Parking Garage and the New Hampshire Parking Garage. This division has seven full time employees – five skilled maintenance workers (electrician, HVAC technician, multi-trade maintenance person for all buildings, one assigned to health facility, one assigned to airport, one assigned to parking structures) and a custodian for City Hall. The Facilities and Structures Division is responsible for building maintenance for approximately 40 municipal buildings. It maintains the Downtown lighting: pedestrian, parking lots, and city owned street lighting. The division responds to Planning/Development Services and Police reports of graffiti. Division staff spends a minimum of eight hours per week at the Investigations and Training Center on Bob Billings Parkway and provides technical support for other departments as well.
