RE:	Request for Reserved Parking Spaces and City Financial Assistance for Infrastructure improvements for new building at southwest corner of 9^th and New Hampshire

The proposed seven-story mixed use building planned for the southwest corner of 9^th and New Hampshire has received its necessary site plan and building permit approvals.  The City has recently received the following communications from the developer’s of the building requesting: 1)   reserved parking spaces in the City owned parking garage to the south of the building; and 2) financial assistance for site improvements and infrastructure related to the proposed project.  See attached letter and public improvement cost breakdown.

Staff recommends that the City Commission receive these requests and refer the requests to staff for a report.  Staff has already started to review the legal ability to reserve additional parking spaces in the parking garage, and will assemble additional information concerning parking capacity in the parking garage as well as an analysis of  the requested infrastructure assistance.
