RE: |
Rev It Up Half Marathon
|
GaDuGi Safe Center, Inc. has submitted the attached Temporary Use of Public Right-of-Way Permit application for the Rev It Up Half Marathon on Saturday, October 2, 2010. Runners and volunteers will be parking at Broken Arrow Park, South Junior High, and the church parking lots in the area. The run will require the complete closure of Louisiana Street from the entrance to Broken Arrow Park south to 31st Street at the beginning of the race from approximately 7:45 a.m. to 8:05 a.m. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department will close the intersection of 31st and Louisiana for approximately five minutes as the runners cross.
The race then heads south on county roads (see attached route map) and comes back into the city on Haskell and then travels on various streets in the Park Hill and Indian Hills neighborhoods. By the time the runners re-enter the city they will be spread out thin enough that law enforcement will not be providing traffic control. The Police and Public Works departments have reviewed and approved the race route. The applicant is requesting barricades for the brief closure of Louisiana Street.
ACTION: Approve a Temporary Use of Right-of-Way Permit for the Rev It Up Half-Marathon on Saturday, October 2, 2010, to allow the use of various city streets including the closure of Louisiana Street from the Broken Arrow Park entrance south to 31st Street from approximately 7:45 a.m. – 8:05 a.m.
