RE:	Westar Rate Case Pending Before Kansas Corporation Commission

Parties in a pending Westar rate case before the Kansas Corporation Commission recently filed a Stipulation and Agreement and a Joint Motion to Approve Stipulation and Agreement.  The Agreement states the parties agree Westar’s revenue increase will be $17,116,219.  Further, the revenue increase will be allotted between Westar North and Westar South based upon the methodology approved in an earlier Westar rate case, (the 1041 Docket).  The Stipulation and Agreement provides that the method for complete consolidation of the private area lighting service and street lighting customer classes will be established in a collaborative docket that has recently been open as a result of the KCC’s order in the 641 Docket.  Therefore, issues of interest to the City of Lawrence concerning street lighting and private area lighting service will continue in the new case. 

Action Requested:  Staff seeks authorization to sign the Stipulation and Agreement.
