Please include the following item on the City Commission regular agenda for consideration at the April 21, 2009 meeting:
On April 21, 2009 the City Commission will open a public hearing to consider a request by Westar Energy, Inc., 818 S. Kansas Avenue, Topeka, KS 66601, for the vacation of a permanent utility easement lying in Lots 1 and 8, Lawrence Industrial Park (aka 746 E. 27th Street) in the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas.
The utility easement was for a City of Lawrence wastewater force main. The force main has been relocated and a new easement granted.
All utilities, as well as city staff, have reviewed this request and have no objections. All property owners within 200 feet have also been notified and no objections have been received.
Action Requested: Hold public hearing and, pending discussion, approve order of vacation.
