Please include the following item on the City Commission regular agenda for consideration at the November 11, 2008 meeting:
On November 11, 2008 the City Commission will open a public hearing to consider a request by property owners Lawrence E. and Patricia G. Graner, 1215 W. 4th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044 for the vacation of the east 10’ of right-of-way of Arkansas Street adjacent to Lot 70 and the west 25’ of Lot 68, in Block 34, West Lawrence Addition. The applicant is requesting the vacation of the right-of-way to permit construction of a new accessory garage that meets 20’ setback and would not require removal of a large tree to the east of the proposed structure.
All utilities, as well as property owners within 200 feet, were notified. No objections have been received. Staff is recommending that easements be retained within the vacated right-of-way.
Action Requested: Hold public hearing and, pending discussion, approve order of vacation retaining the access easement for utilities.
