REHAB OF PUMPS AND MOTORS – UTILITIES DEPARTMENT – #B08056
Utilities Department requested bids for 22 pumps and motors for rebuild or replacement. This is the Pump and Rehab Program that the Department has used to maintain the reliability of the pumping system for numerous years. In an effort to consolidate and make the process more efficient for city personnel and vendors all pumps and motors were sent out for bid at once instead of individually, as had been done in years past.
Items 2, 3, 4, and 9 being requested are not low bid. Utilities Department requests to purchase these items new rather than rebuild to allow us to have backup units in case of equipment failure. At this time we have no backups for this equipment. The low bid on line 7 from Letts, Van Kirk, and Associates does not meet our requirements of a certified performance test before installation.
