Henderson, Director of the Lawrence Community Shelter (LCS) has requested an
amendment to the agreement between the City and the LCS for the use City funds
for 2008.
Under the
current agreement,
the Lawrence Community Shelter agrees to use a portion of their funding as
follows:
1. Bus passes -- $6,600 will be used
to purchase 13,200 one-way bus passes to be distributed through seven agencies
to about 380 homeless adults and children; and
2. Work clothing -- $2,400 will be
used to purchase clothing required for employment at a projected average
expense of $45.00 per request for approximately 53 individuals through seven
agencies.
Mr.
Henderson, on behalf of the agencies that distribute the bus passes and work
clothing, has requested an amendment
to the agreement that would remove the fixed amounts for each category of
expenditures. The total would remain the
same, however, the dollars could be used for more or less of each category
based on the needs of a particular agency.
Action Requested
Staff requests
the City Commission authorize the amendment
to the agreement.
