RE:	12^th and Oread Redevelopment District

The January 8 City Commission agenda includes Resolution No. 6749 which sets February 12, 2008, as the public hearing date regarding the establishment of a redevelopment district pursuant to K.S.A. 12-1770 et seq. for the 12^th and Oread Redevelopment District.  The resolution establishes the legal boundaries of the proposed district as illustrated by the attached map.  A project calendar, which has been included in future agenda materials, outlines the timeline for establishment of the TIF and TDD districts. 

At the November 27, 2007 City Commission Meeting, the Commission approved a funding agreement to initiate the tax increment financing and transportation development district process for the 12^th and Oread Redevelopment Project.  On December 27, 2007, the City Commission approved a contract with Springsted to complete the statutorily required feasibility study.

Action Requested

Consider, and if appropriate, adopt Resolution 6749 establishing February 12, 2008 as the public hearing regarding establishment of the 12^th and Oread Redevelopment District.
