Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the October 2, 2007 meeting:
Approval of Change Order No.1 (Final) for the Alvamar Area Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project (Project # CS05-1,2,3) in the amount of $44,770.36.
Project History. This project was the combination of three 2003 Wastewater Master Plan project recommendations, CS05-01, CS05-02 and CS05-03. All three projects were along a common sanitary sewer trunk line that begins in the area of 6th and Monterey, and extends to an area south and east of Clinton Parkway and Kasold. The 2003 Wastewater Master Plan recommended the projects to ensure adequate wastewater collection system capacity in the area. The combined project consisted of relief sewer construction, sewer replacement, manhole rehabilitation and pipe repairs along the alignment.
Project Details. The major items of the change order include adjustments to excavation costs in areas of unstable soil and additional sewer line repairs that were identified once the project got underway. A copy of change order is attached.
Project Status. The project was substantially completed on June 27, 2007. Final contract amount is $924,801.36, which is $44,770.36, or 4.9% above the contract award amount of $880,031.00.
Project Funding. The project is funded by the 2005 bond fund.
Action Request. Utility Department staff requests approval of Change Order No. 1 (Final) in the amount of $44,770.36.
