Update on Kasold Construction

Flyash, storm sewer and water line work has been completed on the east two lanes of Kasold. Final grading and the underdrain should be completed by the Friday the 22nd. Speed has been reduced throughout the project to 20 MPH. Residents on the east side of the street were updated on 9/7/06 about the paving plan that will start on Monday the 25th, weather permitting.

 

Commuter Survey to Assess Need for K-10 Bus Service

KDOT and Johnson County Transit are discussing the possibility of establishing a K-10 corridor bus service that would link the KU, KU-Edwards Campus, and Johnson County Community College communities. To facilitate KDOT’s investigation of need for such a service, the Lawrence Transit System will be sending out a commuter survey as a utility bill insert (see draft survey). The survey asks questions regarding commuter routes, destinations, frequency, and transit use.

 

Management Team Exchange Day Activities

Over the past couple of months, members of the Management Team have been participating in exchanges with other departments. By spending a few hours contributing in a meaningful way to work outside their normal duties, members of the Management Team build cross-departmental understanding of City operations. Attached are photos of some of the Management Team on their exchanges, and a list of all the activities members undertook.
