2006 Schedule for Mid Managers Meetings
As noted in the attached purpose statement, and in response to feedback and recommendations from the 2003 Employee Survey, a Mid-Manager’s Operations group was formed to meet quarterly with the following purpose:
· Facilitate meaningful communication between service departments;
· Facilitate consistent supervision and management of front-line employees between service departments;
· Improve efficiencies where possible and increase the “seamless” provision of direct services in the community; and
· Provide opportunities for this group to review and comment on organizational policy issues that are of common interest.
The group’s 2006 schedule of quarterly meetings is attached.
Contractor Licensing Board Update
Several months ago the Mayor asked for the Contractor Licensing ordinance to be reworded to provide specific term limits for each member. At the same time, the trade boards were considering being included in the contractor licensing program. As of today all trade boards have voted to be included in the contractor licensing program and would like to have representation on the Contractor Licensing Board. Staff is in the process of revising the contractor licensing board ordinance to include trade board members and revising the contractor licensing ordinance to include this group. Once the ordinances have been revised and approved, the Neighborhood Resources department will contact all trade contractors to advise of the new licensing requirements and fees (currently $200 for a new license and $50 for a renewal--new requirement $200 for a new license and $200 for a renewal).
