ORDINANCE NO. 9664

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, REZONING APPROXIMATELY 1.47 ACRES FROM RS7 (SINGLE-DWELLING RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT TO RM12 (MULTI-DWELLING RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT AND AMENDING THE CITY’S “OFFICIAL ZONING DISTRICT MAP,” INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE INTO THE CITY CODE AT CHAPTER 20, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 20-108 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, 2018 EDITION, AND AMENDMENTS THERETO.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

 

SECTION 1. The base zoning district classification for the following legally described real property, located in the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, to-wit:

 

Lots 1, 2, and 3 of Township Courts, an addition to the City of Lawrence; and the South 135 feet of the following described tract: Commencing at a point on the North line of the Northwest Quarter of Section 7, Township 13 South, Range 20 East of the Sixth Principal Meridian and the Northeast corner of an acre and one quarter tract owned by the Township of Wakarusa, said tract being described in a deed to said Township recorded in Deed Book 43, Page 237, thence South along the East line of said Wakarusa Township tract 20 rods to the Southeast corner of said tract, thence East parallel with the said North line of said Quarter Section 55 feet, thence North 20 rods parallel with the East line of said Wakarusa Township  tract to the said North line of the Quarter Section, thence West along the North line of Quarter Section 55 feet to the place of beginning; and the vacated portion of Tennessee Street adjacent to Said Lots, Book 451/Page 984, all in the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas,

 

is hereby changed from RS7 (Single-Dwelling Residential) District to RM12 (Multi-Dwelling Residential) District, as such district is defined in Chapter 20 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2018 Edition, and amendments thereto.

 

SECTION 2. The “Official Zoning District Map,” which is adopted and incorporated into the City Code by reference at City of Lawrence, Kan., Code § 20-108 (Jan. 1, 2018), is hereby amended by showing and reflecting thereon the new zoning district classification for the subject property as described in more detail in Section 1, supra.

 

SECTION 3. If any section, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is found to be unconstitutional or is otherwise held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect the validity of any remaining parts of this ordinance. 

 

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
