Executive Summary: |
This comprehensive plan amendment was first reviewed by the City Commission in 2012, at which time the Commission voted unanimously to approve the amendment. The project then began work to comply with the conditions of the associated rezoning cases at that time. After refining and resuming the project, the applicant brought back a new rezoning application in 2018 (Z-18-00505) to address those conditions and incorporate other associated changes in the overall project.
The Planning Commission reevaluated this comprehensive plan amendment at their December 19, 2018 meeting and voted 9-1 to affirm this amendment. The City Commission then reviewed this amendment at their February 19, 2019 meeting and voted to affirm the findings for publication for this amendment.
Ordinance No. 9654 would incorporate the changes of CPA-11-8-11 into Chapter 6: Commercial Land Use of Horizon 2020 to expand the identified boundaries of Downtown Lawrence accommodating the North Mass mixed-use development.
