Recommendations/Options/Action Requested: |
|
|||
Approve outside agency application for 2020 funding. |
|
|||
Executive Summary: |
The Social Service Funding Advisory Board met to review the proposed application on March
18. They recommended the 2020 application for
funding with the recommendation to add language referring to component units
in Section 2d. Additionally, they added May 21 as their scheduled meeting
date that is referenced in the application.
The Board also discussed adding language in Section 8 that would require applicants to provide financial information related to any affiliated organization (i.e. friend groups, endowments, etc.) but ultimately decided to leave that section as is currently stands. There was not consensus among Board members about how that information related directly to their mission or how to define an affiliated organization.
Again for 2020, there will be one combined application that all social service agencies and economic development agencies will fill out to request funds for 2020. The social service agency applications will be reviewed by the Social Service Funding Advisory Board and the economic development agency applications will be reviewed by the Public Incentives Review Committee.
If approved, the application for outside agencies will open on April 1 and close on April 26. Funding recommendations will be provided to the City Commission during the regular budget process for final approval by the City Commission. |
