Authorize the City Manager to execute a license agreement with Greyhound Lines, Inc. for the use of the City’s right-of-way for a bus stop on West 7th Street between Kentucky Street and Vermont Street. |
|
|||
Executive Summary: |
The Greyhound Bus provides daily service to Lawrence on its route between Topeka and Kansas City three times a day.
On March 7, 2017, the City Commission approved a license agreement with Greyhound to use the City’s right-of-way for a bus stop on 7th Street between Kentucky Street and Vermont Street. The agreement was extended another year in 2018. This is an annual agreement. Four parking stalls have been removed to accommodate an area for the Greyhound bus to pull over and load/unload passengers. This area, on the north side of the Library on 7th Street, appears to be working out for Greyhound and they would like to continue with the current agreement. The Library is also satisfied with arrangement.
The license agreement provides a $500 per month fee. |
