Executive Summary: |
The Brew to Brew event organizers have requested permission for the sale, possession, and consumption of alcohol associated with their 2019 event on the public right of way.
The sale, possession and consumption of alcohol on the right-of-way is generally prohibited, unless the City Commission adopts an ordinance exempting an area from that prohibition. The attached Ordinance No. 9646 would temporarily allow the sale, possession, and consumption of alcohol on the 800 block of Pennsylvania Street on Sunday, April 7, 2019 during the event.
The event organizers have sent out notice of this event to the property owners in the area. Access in and out of those locations will be maintained during the event. They have also obtained written support from the adjacent properties and business.
In addition, Police, Parks and Recreation, Municipal Services and Operations, Fire/Medical, Lawrence Transit, Downtown Lawrence, Inc., East Lawrence Neighborhood Association, Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods, and Explore Lawrence have reviewed this request. |
