Direct the City Attorney’s Office to prepare a call for a special meeting of the City Commission for Saturday, March 23, 2019, in accordance with Section 1-108 (C) of the City Code. |

Executive Summary: |
Section 1-108 (C) of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2018 Edition and amendments thereto, authorizes the Governing Body to call special meetings. A special meeting should be scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2019, for the purpose of conducting in executive (closed) session interviews of candidates for the position of City Manager, in accordance with the Kansas Open Meetings Act, K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(1). The special meeting, if called, will convene at 8:00 a.m. in the City Commission Room, and then a motion will be made to recess into executive session until approximately 3:30 p.m. No other business shall be undertaken at this Special Meeting. Staff will prepare an agenda and provide appropriate notice of the meeting in accordance with our standard procedures and the law.
Staff of the City Attorney’s Office will prepare the call for a special meeting, get it signed, and filed with the City Clerk.
