ORDINANCE NO. 9577

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, AMENDING CHAPTER XVII, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 17-107 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, 2018 EDITION, AND AMENDMENTS THERETO, PERTAINING TO THE DESIGNATION OF TRAFFIC LANES, AND REPEALING EXISTING SECTION 17-107.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

SECTION 1. Chapter XVII, Article 1, Section 17-107 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2018 Edition, and amendments thereto, is hereby amended to read as follows:

17-107             AMENDMENTS TO STO; TRAFFIC LANES.

Section 21.  Traffic Lanes is amended to read as follows:

The City Traffic Engineer Manager or his or her designee is hereby authorized to mark traffic lanes upon the roadway of any street or highway where a regular alignment of traffic is deemed necessary.

SECTION 2. Section 17-107 of the Code of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, 2018 Edition and amendments thereto, is hereby repealed, it being the intent that the provisions of this ordinance supersede the repealed Code sections.

SECTION 3. If any section, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is found to be unconstitutional or is otherwise held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect the validity of any remaining parts of this ordinance.

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its passage and publication as provided by law.
