Adopt on first reading Ordinance No. 9558,setting forth the duties and responsibilities of the Finance Department Director, if appropriate. 

 

Executive Summary:

The position of Finance Director is a critical position for the City.  As the City is in the process of hiring a new finance director, it is an appropriate time to add city code provisions clarifying the duties and responsibilities of that position.  The proposed ordinance is based on the job description of the Finance Director and is consistent with state law provisions that place the duty to safely keep all public moneys entrusted to his or her care.
