Recommendations/Options/Action Requested:

 

Accept vacation of easements and dedication of new easements associated with Minor Subdivision, MS-18-00243, for Casey’s Subdivision, located at 1703, 1711, 1717 W. 6th Street and 1710 W. 7th Street. Submitted by Casey’s Retail Company on behalf of Lonnie J., and Geneva J. Blackburn, Harold Shephard, Marla J. Webster, James W. Vantuyl and Brenda S. Vantuyl, property owners of record.

 

 

Executive Summary:

This subdivision application is for the combination of existing platted lots.   Minor Subdivisions are administratively reviewed.

 

The property includes existing utility easements that will be retained with this development and an existing shared access easement that will be vacated. The current shared access easement is obsolete given the proposed redevelopment of the property. This project also includes both the vacation and dedication of new utility easements as shown on the drawing.

 

Primary access to Lot 1 will be provided via a shared access and driveway between Lot 1 and the adjacent property. Additional cross access will extend through Lot 1 providing access to Wisconsin Street through the Casey’s site. A separate cross access proving emergency access to the west side of Lot 2 is proposed. This access extends from the shared driveway south to Lot 2 all on the adjacent property. These cross access easements are proposed as dedications by separate instrument so that the required maintenance and responsibility between responsible properties can be established.

 

The City Commission’s action on this request is to accept the vacation of the access easement and the vacation and dedication of new utility easements as shown on the attached drawing.
