On September 5, 2017, the City Commission considered a second draft of Ordinance No. 9324, which would amend Chapter 1, Article 25 of the City Code by establishing a Community Police Review Board. At that meeting the City Commission directed staff to add additional language to the Ordinance, which has been incorporated into the newest draft. Additionally, staff has made several other amendments to the draft for the purpose of better clarifying the Ordinance. A graph summarizing the changes and the reasons for them is attached.
In the event that the City Commission adopts the Ordinance, staff has also drafted bylaws for the Community Police Review Board. The bylaws are attached for review. |
