Meeting Minutes

November 15, 2017 – 4:30 p.m.

Present:        Tracy Green, Dennis Leslie, Jarrod Mann, and Tom Waechter

Absent:        Jay Zimmerschied

Staff:           James King and Rachel Palmer-Reeb

Introductions

Introductions were made welcoming new board member Jarrod Mann.

Distribute Materials

James King distributed the following materials:

· 2018 International Fire Code (IFC)

· 2018 Significant Changes

· Kansas Open Meetings Act

· 2015 local amendments

Goals of the Board

The Board will begin meeting every third Wednesday of the month to review and make recommendation of amendments related to the 2018 IFC to be presented to the City Commission for adoption with these goals in mind:

· Eliminate unnecessary amendments

· Be cognizant of changes that may have negative impact on development and design

Assignment

The Board will review these items before the next meeting:

· Review 2015 amendments

· Review significant changes

· Review 2018 IFC chapters 1-3

The meeting was adjourned.  The next meeting will be held, December 20, 2017, 4:30 p.m. in the McSwain Conference located at the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medicals Administration Office.
