Deny request for traffic calming measures on Cedarwood Avenue from 25th to 26th Street. |
Executive Summary: |
At the November 6, 2017 Transportation Commission Meeting, the board considered a request to install traffic calming devices on Cedarwood Avenue from 25th to 26th Street. In May 2017 the Transportation Commission received a request for traffic calming. Traffic data was obtained by city staff. City staff found the 85th percentile traffic speeds are one (1) mph over the posted speed limit of 30 mph. These speeds are not five (5) mph over the posted speed limit, and do not meet criteria for installing traffic calming devices. City staff recommended denial of the request.
Two (2) residents provided email correspondence in favor of traffic calming. That correspondence is attached with this memo. The Transportation commission voted 11-0 to recommend denying the request. |
