Authorize the sole source purchase of two replacement, excess flow pump, variable frequency drives (VFD) from Logic, Inc. for the combined total purchase price of $129,380.58 for Project UT1707 Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant VFD Replacements. |
|

Executive Summary: |
Pump and blower functionality are critical, particularly during high flow events at the City’s wastewater treatment plant. Each pump and blower has its own variable frequency drive (VFD) to control speed and reduce operating costs. Staff has determined two aging VFDs at the Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant need replacement for continued excess flow pump reliability at Actiflo Pump #2. A sole source quote of $64,690.29 for each replacement VFD has been obtained from Logic, Inc. for a combined total purchase price of $129,380.58. Quote includes freight, startup services, and five-year warranty. Logic is the local supplier for the Department’s specified standard VFDs from manufacturer ABB. |
