Project Description

Utilities and Street Divisions have backhoe replacement scheduled in the 2018 CIP process.  These are critical function units that provide infrastructure repairs. Utilities and Streets have units that are currently leased and the lease schedule is due in March of 2018.  To account for the build and delivery process, these unit replacements were bid accounting for the build and delivery times expected from manufactures.

On 9/26/2017, the City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:

Staff Recommendation

Staff recommends the bid from Murphy Tractor and Equipment Co.  These units meet specifications.  The bid from Victor L. Phillips has not acknowledged the addendum for backhoe bucket style.

Action

Award the bid action to Murphy Tractor and Equipment Co. for the lease of four (4) backhoes for the term of 3 years.
