Authorize the sole-source purchase of process instrumentation probes and controllers in the amount of $141,947.81 from Hach Company for the Wakarusa River Wastewater Treatment Plant Project UT1304. |
Executive Summary: |
Efficient and effective wastewater treatment relies on timely and robust information collected from samples throughout the plant processes. The need to obtain such low levels of regulated chemical parameters such as phosphorus and nitrates being discharged by the plant is required by law. A combination of probes that measure phosphorus, dissolved oxygen, solids, and nitrates throughout the wastewater treatment process will provide a real-time assessment of our ability to meet these regulated parameters and assist in controlling the treatment processes to meet our required parameter levels. The City uses inline analyzers to provide continuous real-time information about the processes related to the operation of its existing wastewater plants. The ability to measure these parameters at the Wakarusa Wastewater Treatment Plant is dependent upon purchase of these instruments and supporting systems. To maintain consistency and compatibility with the existing instrumentation, a sole source purchase from Hach Company is necessary. |
