Executive Summary: |
The Live on Mass event organizers have applied for a street event temporary use of right-of-way permit for their 2017 event, which will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017. The event footprint will be limited to a portion of the sidewalk on the east side of the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street for the event.
The event applicant has requested an ordinance authorizing the sale, possession and consumption of alcohol in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street for the event.
The request to sell, possess and consume alcohol within the public right-of-way has been reviewed pursuant to City of Lawrence Code, Chapter IV, Article 1, Section 4-113 and was found to not be within 400 feet of a church or school, therefore a public hearing is not required.
This event request has been reviewed by Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Police, Fire/Medical, Downtown Lawrence Inc., Lawrence Transit, Explore Lawrence, and Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods and was completed with no issues being identified. |
