Approve a request for Traffic Calming on Learnard Avenue between 15th Street & 19th Street. |

Executive Summary: |
At the July 10, 2017 Transportation Commission Meeting, the board considered a request for traffic calming on Learnard Avenue between 15th Street & 19th Street. Traffic data obtained during May of 2017 found that the 85th percentile speed met the City of Lawrence Traffic Calming Policy criteria for installing traffic calming devices on Learnard Avenue.
There was one resident present which spoke in favor of Traffic Calming. The commission also received email correspondence from four residents in favor and one resident not in favor of Traffic Calming. The Transportation Commission voted 10-0 to recommend approval of the request.

Fiscal Impact (Amount/Source): |
The fiscal impact to the City is approximately $40,000. The 2018 budget set aside $200,000 for traffic calming projects. If approved by the City Commission, the project will be prioritized and placed on the list of Approved Traffic Calming Projects for future consideration. |
