Executive Summary: |
The Lawrence Beer Company event organizers have applied for a street event temporary use of right of way permit for their 2017 event, which will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the 800 block of Pennsylvania Street and on 8th Street from Pennsylvania Street to New Jersey Street.
The event applicant has requested an ordinance authorizing the sale, possession and consumption of alcohol associated with this event.
The request to sell, possess and consume alcohol within the public right of way has been reviewed pursuant to City of Lawrence Code, Chapter IV, Article 1, Section 4-113 and was not found to be within 400 feet of a church or school.
The applicant has obtained permission from the adjacent property owners to close the streets for the event. In addition, coordination with Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Police, Fire/Medical, Downtown Lawrence Inc., Lawrence Transit, Explore Lawrence, and Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods was completed with no issues being identified. |
