Executive Summary: |
At the April 3, 2017 Transportation Commission Meeting, the board considered the request for traffic calming on Kensington Road between 25th Terrace and 27th Street. The request is explained in detail in the attached Memo and Attachments document. Kensington Road, which is designated as a "collector" street with 100 percent of the driveways facing the roadway, meets the minimum criteria for consideration of Traffic Calming. Traffic data obtained during October of 2016, found that the speed, volume, and cut through traffic criteria were not met.
At the Transportation Commission meeting, one (1) resident spoke in favor of Traffic Calming; two (2) residents spoke in opposition to Traffic Calming; one (1) resident emailed in favor of Traffic Calming; and one (1) resident emailed in opposition to Traffic Calming. The Transportation Commission voted unanimously, 9-0, to recommend denial of the request.
