Executive Summary: |
At the February 14, 2017 City
Commission meeting, representatives from the LiveWell Lawrence Healthy Built
Environment Work Group proposed a logo design to be used to identify and
market the Lawrence Loop Trail. The City Commission directed the
representatives to seek approval of the logo design from the Lawrence Parks
and Recreation Advisory Board and the eXplore Lawrence Governing Board. The
attached memo details the process and approvals received from both boards. Staff
recommends City Commission approval of the logo design. |

Fiscal Impact

The fiscal impact to the City is unknown. This item was not included in the 2017 Parks and Recreation budget. Approval of the logo design
will allow LiveWell Lawrence to solicit private / grant funding for marketing
and promotional materials. City funds may be used in the future to replace or
install trail signage to better identify the Lawrence Loop Trail. It is
anticipated this signage installation would take place over multiple years as
operational budgets allow. |
