Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS:   The Reuter Organ Company was established by Adolph Reuter and began its operations in Trenton, Illinois on April 17, 1917; and

WHEREAS:   The Reuter Organ Company moved its operations to Lawrence in 1919 after an organ was commissioned for the Masonic Temple in Lawrence and local business leaders urged is move from Illinois; and

WHEREAS:   The Reuter Organ Company designs and fabricates custom pipe organs that are utilized in places of worship, concert halls, private residences, and schools across the United States, Canada, Taiwan, and Korea; and

WHEREAS:   Reuter organs are fabricated by its employees with expert craftsmanship and technical and artistic detail; and

WHEREAS:   The Reuter Organ Company celebrates its 100^th Anniversary in April, 2017;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Leslie Soden, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby proclaim the month of April, 2017 as

reuter organ month

in Lawrence and congratulate this fine Lawrence company on its rich history and future success.
