Recommendations/Options/Action Requested:
Approve a Special Event Permit (SE-17-00073) for the 2017 Final Four Tent Sales at 2300 Louisiana Street beginning on  March 26, 2017.  Submitted by Sun Creations, Inc., with permission of 2300 Louisiana Co, LLC, property owners of record. Planning staff recommends approval of the Special Event Permit SE-17-00073 for the 2017 Final Four Tent Sales at 2300 Louisiana Street daily from 9 am to 9 pm starting on March 26, 2017 through April 9, 2017, subject to the conditions listed on the Special Event Permit.
Executive Summary:		This is a special event permit for the sale of KU merchandise in the event that the University of Kansas Basketball team reaches the NCAA Final Four.  The proposed location is in a north portion of the Checkers parking lot located at 2300 Louisiana.  This location has already had the maximum number of yearly administratively approved special event permits issued due to the seasonal garden sales that also occur on the site so this special event permit requires approval of the City Commission.  The Final Four Tent Sales does not interfere with the approved location of the seasonal garden sales and still provides adequate parking for the site.
