Set a bid opening date of February 7, 2017, for hourly rate and unit priced contractual services.

Executive Summary: |
The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests the bidding of hourly rate and unit priced contractual services for electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, concrete, excavation, HVAC, engineering and design services. The successful bidders will be hired as needed to perform small projects throughout the year. Each individual bid document will be for a one-year term with renewal options up to four additional years if pricing is held at the bid price and quality of work meets the City’s expectations. The documents will also specify that approved bids may be utilized by other City of Lawrence departments.

Fiscal Impact (Amount/Source): |
The total cost of these contracted services throughout the annual contract term (1 year) is estimated in the range of $150,000 - $200,000 for Parks and Recreation projects. Funds are appropriated for these services in a variety of contractual services lines throughout the department’s general fund, recreation fund, golf course fund and special recreation fund budgets. If future renewal options are exercised, the cost of these services will remain steady over each one-year renewal term.
