Executive Summary: |
The Street Division has identified the replacement of unit #364, a 2007 Elgin street sweeper, in the 2017 CIP budget. Street sweepers combat material intrusion into the city’s storm water infrastructure and remove debris from intersections and brick streets. The Street Division only utilizes Elgin Sweepers in its operation which helps standardize the fleet and increase runtime by allowing specialized parts to be stocked, ensuring operator familiarity, and enabling specialized training for mechanic staff.
